JEDDAH - Foreign ministers from eight Muslim-majority countries have condemned Israel’s rejection of a proposed road map for implementing US President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict, as well as its rejection of Palestinian statehood.

The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates said Israel’s positions amounted to a “direct repudiation” of the plan and threatened international efforts to end the war and establish lasting peace.

The countries said the road map, which they said had been accepted by Palestinian factions, was the result of extensive mediation efforts involving Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, and the United States, among others.

They said its implementation would involve the decommissioning of weapons alongside an Israeli military withdrawal, deployment of an international stabilization force, transfer of administrative authority in Gaza to a Palestinian national committee and reconstruction of the territory.

The ministers called for sustained US engagement to ensure Israel complies with the commitments and arrangements under the plan. They warned that Israel would bear responsibility for consequences arising from continued rejection, obstruction or delays in implementing the proposed framework.

The eight countries urged the immediate implementation of the comprehensive plan to address Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, restore stability and support reconstruction.

They also rejected any attempt to prevent Palestinian statehood, stressing that a lasting peace requires a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

The ministers further called on the Board of Peace, with active US support, to take immediate measures to protect the integrity of the plan and advance its second phase.
