Turkiye’s ambassador meets Pakistan's top diplomat, conveys President Erdogan’s support for Middle East peace efforts

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD - Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Irfan Neziroğlu called on Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, delivering a message of appreciation and support from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.

During the meeting, Ambassador Neziroğlu conveyed President Erdogan’s recognition of Pakistan’s active diplomatic role in de-escalating regional tensions, particularly in the wake of the two-month-old conflict that has disrupted the Strait of Hormuz and triggered a global energy crisis, according to Foreign Ministry statement.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued commitment to advancing lasting peace in the region, noting that Islamabad remains steadfast in its belief that dialogue, not confrontation, is the only path to stability.

The two diplomats also appreciated the close coordination and regular high-level exchanges between Ankara and Islamabad. Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to further deepen the Pakistan-Turkiye strategic partnership, which has strengthened significantly in recent years across defense, trade, and diplomatic cooperation.

The meeting came just days after Pakistan hosted a fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran, with Islamabad continuing to position itself as a key mediator in the widening Middle East crisis. No further details about the discussion were immediately released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
