Pakistan condemns Houthi terrorists' missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s Makkah and Madinah

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Monday condemned ballistic missile attacks carried out by Yemen’s Houthi terrorists that targeted Saudi Arabia’s Makkah and Madinah regions, including areas near Islam’s holiest sites.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the attacks, which it said took place on October 24, violated Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and endangered civilian safety.
Islamabad also described the strikes as a serious disregard for the religious significance of Makkah and Madinah, home to Islam’s two holiest mosques.
“Pakistan strongly condemns the Houthi ballistic missile attacks,” the ministry said, reaffirming the country’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its commitment to the Makkah Alliance.
Pakistan reiterated its support for the kingdom’s security, stability and defence, including the protection of the Two Holy Mosques against external threats. It also praised Saudi air defence forces for intercepting the attacks.
The condemnation comes amid continuing regional tensions and security concerns involving Yemen and the wider Middle East. Pakistan has repeatedly expressed support for Saudi Arabia’s security and territorial integrity.
The Houthis terrorists, also known as Ansar Allah terrorist group, control much of northern Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa, and have previously launched missiles and drones towards Saudi territory during the Yemen conflict.
