ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's military has categorically rejected what it called a "coordinated disinformation strategy" by the Afghan Taliban regime, vowing to maintain its operational tempo against militant hideouts both inside Pakistan and across the disputed border.

In a statement following the 275th Corps Commanders' Conference at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the military's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), accused the interim Afghan government of providing safe havens to "Khawarij and other terrorist organisations" while running a propaganda campaign to portray Pakistan as targeting civilians inside Afghanistan.

"The Forum categorically rejected these frivolous allegations and reaffirmed that Pakistan's defensive actions remain focused, precise, and directed solely against infiltrators, terrorist hideouts and support infrastructures," the statement read.

Army Chief and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who presided over the conference, expressed satisfaction with ongoing intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations, including Operation Ghazb lil Haq (Wrath for Truth). The forum acknowledged the "continued degradation of terrorists and their support infrastructure" through the campaign.

The military leadership resolved to "maintain current operational tempo to decisively dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt their support infrastructure, and deny them any operational space within Pakistan."

The ISPR statement took direct aim at the Afghan Taliban regime, accusing it of adopting an "irrational and perverted policy" by harboring militant groups at the expense of the Afghan people's interests.

"It noted that the irrational and perverted policy of Afghan Taliban regime to provide safe havens to Khawarij and other terrorist organisations, with total disregard to interests of Afghan people, is increasingly backfiring and stands fully exposed," the statement said.

Pakistan also accused the Taliban of running a "recent pattern of ongoing propaganda campaign" falsely claiming that Pakistani forces have targeted civilians inside Afghanistan. The military described these narratives as part of a "coordinated disinformation strategy by the regime to distract attention from their internal failures and play victim card."

There was no immediate comment from the Afghan Taliban administration in Kabul. Tensions between the neighbors have escalated in recent months, with Pakistan accusing Afghanistan of harboring militants responsible for cross-border attacks, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a group designated as a terrorist organization by both Islamabad and Washington.

Beyond the border conflict, the corps commanders reviewed the "emerging geopolitical developments" in the region, though the statement did not specify which developments. The forum underscored the importance of "restraint and avoidance of escalation" while acknowledging Pakistan's role in advocating stability.

- Kashmir and 'Marka-e-Haq'

The conference also marked the first anniversary of what Pakistan's military calls "Marka-e-Haq" (Battle for Truth)—described in the statement as a "defining moment reflecting national unity" against external threats. The forum said the commemoration serves as "a clear message to Indian hubristic political mindset that the Pakistani nation stands united, resilient, and fully prepared."

The military reiterated its condemnation of "ongoing atrocities, extrajudicial killings, and demographic changes" in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reaffirming Pakistan's diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people's struggle.

Field Marshal Munir directed commanders to maintain "the highest levels of vigilance, operational readiness, and adaptability" in the face of evolving threats, emphasizing professional excellence and integrated response mechanisms.

The forum also paid tribute to the "Shuhada" (martyrs) of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who have died in defense of the country.
