According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the conversation was “warm and cordial.” Prime Minister Sharif briefed Luxon on Pakistan’s outreach to both Washington and Tehran, underscoring Islamabad’s role as a constructive mediator in the region.

Prime Minister Luxon expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan’s initiatives and conveyed his best wishes for the success of its mediation efforts.

“Grateful for Prime Minister Luxon’s appreciation and support for Pakistan’s sincere peace efforts,” Sharif later wrote on X. “Our warm and productive conversation focused on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach to promote peace and de-escalation in the Middle East.”

The two leaders also agreed to strengthen bilateral ties, expressing satisfaction over the cordial relations between their countries. They specifically lauded the role of the Pakistani diaspora in New Zealand for their positive contributions.
