Pakistan Strengthens Ties with Egypt and Somalia, Reaffirms Regional Peace Commitment

Islamabad – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held separate telephone discussions with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Somalia on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations and regional stability, according to Foreign Ministry.

During the call with Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in Pakistan-Egypt ties and exchanged views on regional and global developments, particularly the situations in Somalia and Yemen. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and development across the region.

In a separate conversation with Somali Foreign Minister H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Senator Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, strongly condemning any attempts to undermine it. The Somali Foreign Minister thanked Pakistan for its steadfast support and sought Islamabad’s assistance in highlighting Somalia’s concerns at the United Nations Security Council.

Senator Dar assured full backing for Somalia at the UN and other multilateral forums, reiterating Pakistan’s long-standing policy of supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of regional partners.

These diplomatic engagements underscore Pakistan’s proactive role in fostering regional cooperation and contributing to peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and the Middle East.
