Indian-Sponsored Terrorists Attack School Bus in Khuzdar, Say Security Sources

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD  — A school bus carrying children in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan was targeted in a deadly terrorist attack on Wednesday, resulting in the loss of several young school children and leaving many others injured.

Security sources in Pakistan have attributed the attack to Indian-sponsored militants, describing it as a “cowardly and despicable act” following India’s "defeat on the recent battlefield."

According to security officials, the attack was “planned in India and executed by its proxies operating in Balochistan.” The explosion hit the bus as it transported students to school, killing at least three girls and injuring several others.

The victims have been identified as:

  • Sania Soomro, Grade 6

  • Hafsa Kausar, Grade 7

  • Ayesha Saleem, Grade 10

“This cowardly and horrific attack was not only an assault on innocent children but also on the very future of our nation,” a senior security official stated. “India’s distorted face is behind all acts of terrorism in Pakistan.”

The injured children were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals where they are receiving medical treatment. Emergency services and security forces quickly cordoned off the area, and an investigation has been launched.

Officials said the attack was carried out under direct instructions from Indian handlers, following what they described as India’s “disgraceful defeat in the battle of truth.” They allege that India has increasingly turned to targeting soft civilian sites, including educational institutions, to foment instability in Pakistan.

Pakistan's leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the military’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), condemned the attack in the strongest terms. “The planners and perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice,” the ISPR said in a statement.

No group has claimed responsibility so far. However, officials maintain that the nature of the attack and the choice of target strongly suggest it was the work of India-backed proxies active in the region.

The attack has sparked nationwide grief and outrage, with calls for enhanced security around schools and a renewed effort to counter terrorist networks operating in Balochistan.
