4 soldiers killed 11 injured in blast in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - At least four security personnel were killed and nearly a dozen wounded when terrorists hit the force vehicle in the Quetta area of southwestern Balochistan province on Monday.

 

 

According to local police, terrorists targeted security personnel vehicles at Shahra-e-Iqbal in Quetta.

 

“So far four people killed and 11 others wounded,” a local police officer said.

 

He added that the bodies and injured were shifted to the nearest hospital as some are still in critical condition.

 

Forces cordoned off the area soon after the blast to collect the evidence and start the search operation to nab the culprit.

 

On Sunday, Pakistan military said that two terrorists were killed by Pakistan Army during an exchange of fire between forces and militants in Razmak North Waziristan, and South Waziristan while one soldier was also martyred.

 

In a separate operation, Pakistan Army killed three key terrorists in Balochistan who were involved in several terror acts.

 

“From 7 Apr 23 onwards, an Intelligence Based sanitization Operation has been initiated to intercept a group of Terrorists operating in general area Mach, West of Sibi. The Terrorists are linked with targeting of civilians in the area besides harassment of coal mine owners to extort money from them.

 

Based on credible information, multiple ambushes have been laid along different routes in the area frequented by Terrorists for last two days. Resultantly, a party of 3x Terrorists has been intercepted while moving towards their hideout. On being blocked, they opened fire onto the Security Forces,” said ISPR.

 

“During ensuing exchange of fire, two terrorists were sent to hell while another has been apprehended; a cache of arms and ammunition has also been recovered.

 

“The clearance operation in the area continues to nab their remaining accomplices. Pakistan Army, in step with the Nation, remains determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” its added.
