ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Force, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser of the United Arab Emirates, during a visit to Abu Dhabi on Sunday, according to Pakistan’s military media wing, ISPR.

The two sides discussed avenues to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of economic collaboration, investment, and security.

They also exchanged views on regional developments and underscored the importance of close coordination to promote peace and stability in the Middle East and South Asia.

Field Marshal Munir expressed appreciation for the UAE’s longstanding investments and continued support for Pakistan’s economy and security over the decades. He said the sustained engagement reflects deep-rooted historical ties between the two countries and acknowledged the UAE leadership’s role in advancing economic and social development projects in Pakistan.

He further emphasized that the security and stability of the UAE are closely linked to Pakistan’s own security interests, describing the relationship as a strong and enduring strategic partnership.

The Pakistani army chief reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to expanding cooperation across all sectors in a manner that serves the interests of both nations and contributes to broader regional stability.
