Pakistan urge UN to take grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD- Pakistan on Friday expressed deep concern over what it called the “persistent and serious” human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), particularly following a wave of arbitrary arrests of Kashmiri civilians after a recent bomb blast in New Delhi.

Responding to media queries, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that India’s policies — including mass detentions, arbitrary arrests, and severe restrictions on freedoms — amounted to “collective punishment” of the Kashmiri population. Pakistan called on the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to take note of the “grave” situation and press India to take immediate steps to halt abuses. Reiterating its long-standing stance, Pakistan emphasized
