Pakistan, Arab and Muslim States Reject Any Forced Displacement of Palestinians from Gaza

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD - The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have jointly expressed deep concern over recent Israeli statements regarding opening the Rafah Crossing in one direction with the aim of transferring residents of the Gaza Strip into Egypt, firmly rejecting any attempt to expel Palestinians from their land.

In a joint statement, the eight countries underscored their absolute opposition to the forced displacement of the Palestinian people and stressed the necessity of full adherence to the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. The ministers emphasized that the Rafah Crossing must remain open in both directions, ensuring freedom of movement for the civilian population and preventing any coercion that would compel residents to leave Gaza.

The statement called for the creation of conditions that enable Palestinians to remain on their land and actively participate in rebuilding their homeland, within a comprehensive framework aimed at restoring stability and improving humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

The ministers also reiterated their appreciation for President Trump’s commitment to establishing peace in the region and stressed the importance of moving forward with the full and unimpeded implementation of the “Trump Plan” to achieve lasting security and peace. They highlighted the urgent need to sustain the ceasefire, alleviate civilian suffering, ensure unrestricted humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip, begin early recovery and reconstruction, and create conditions for the Palestinian Authority to resume its responsibilities in Gaza.

According to the joint statement, these measures are essential for laying the groundwork for a new phase of security and stability in the region.

The foreign ministers further affirmed their countries’ readiness to continue close coordination with the United States and other regional and international partners to ensure the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and all relevant UN resolutions. They said these efforts are aimed at achieving a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution.

The ministers reiterated that such a settlement must lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the borders of June 4
