RIYADH - A reported Iranian strike on a critical US military asset in the Middle East has exposed potential gaps in Washington’s surveillance and early-warning capabilities, according to a CNN analysis.

Images verified by CNN show a destroyed Boeing E-3 Sentry at Prince Sultan Air Base, with its distinctive radar dome detached and tail section severely damaged. The aircraft, part of the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), is considered one of the most vital components of US battlefield awareness.
