#BREAKING: Trump says US, Iran reach final deal framework, cancels planned strikes against Tehran

By The South Asia Times

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he had cancelled planned military strikes against Iran after what he described as a breakthrough in high-level negotiations with Tehran and regional stakeholders.

In a statement, Trump said discussions with the Iranian leadership had reached the highest level and received approval, prompting him to halt airstrikes and bombings that had been scheduled for Thursday evening.

“Discussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved,” Trump said.

He added that the understanding had the backing of multiple countries, including the United States, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Egypt.

While Trump did not disclose details of the proposed agreement, he said the parties had reached consensus on the framework of a final deal and that the time and location for a formal signing ceremony would be announced shortly.

The U.S. president said a naval blockade imposed during the recent crisis would remain in place until the agreement is formally finalized.

The announcement marks a dramatic shift after days of escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, which had raised fears of a broader regional conflict involving several Middle Eastern states.

There was no immediate public confirmation from Iranian officials regarding the reported agreement. Further details on the contents of the deal and implementation mechanisms were not immediately available.
