The Political Elites have Ruined the Social Fabric of Pakistan

The Political Elites have Ruined the Social Fabric of Pakistan

By Shahid Shah

The political environment in Islamabad is heating up with new twists and turns every other day. Every party is hell bent to create a crisis that favors their narrative resorting to mudslinging each other, playing the blame game, and pursuing petty politics. Everyone is excited to know what the next move from either side would be, meanwhile, Pakistan’s economy is facing the worst downfall of history.

In all this political mess one can analyze that all the moves are strategic and being steered by anonymous powers who want to capitalise on this messy situation to create unrest and anarchy in the country. After playing the card of blame game against each other the political elites are now targeting Pakistan’s Armed Forces. There seems a consensus in this act of blaming institutions as all the parties have shifted the direction of their guns towards Pakistan Army. The driving force of this blame game is someone who wants to incite violence in Pakistan and construct a discord between people and the Amry so that they could easily target the only nuclear-powered Islamic state in the world.

It’s not a hidden fact that Pakistan being the only nuclear power in the Islamic world is a seriously irritating factor for the West and anti-Islamic forces to pursue their agenda of weakening key Islamic countries. The only line of defense they see as a trouble to damage the national fabric of Pakistan is its armed forces. Therefore, they have always used the political elites to run a hidden anti-Pakistan campaign by portraying these elites as the only saviors of this country.

Since the last few months, the political parties have been alleging Pakistan Army for their role in politics while setting the chaotic stage themselves. Everyone knows that the current environment was ideal for the Army to takeover, but they continue to maintain their stance of being apolitical and having nothing to do with the inter party political gimmicks.

In a recent episode when a former Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari was arrested by police on her alleged involvement in a land grabbing case filed during the tenure of her own government, her daughter brazenly blamed the armed forces and its leadership as the one behind her mother’s arrest. Is it sane to play such moves that could damage not only the national fabric but also the national integration? Is it fair to allege the senior army leadership without any proof and evidence? Will the law also takes its course in holding such people accountable who viciously attack institutions without any evidence? How long this political elite would continue to rule our lives? These are pertinent questions bothering the minds of common people of Pakistan. Politician elite use our blood and sweat to live a luxurious life and blame those soldiers who sacrifice their lives for our better future? Why can’t we be on the same page to raise our voice against the political elites installed by the anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan forces to make us their slaves? We all are responsible for our lives, and we must stand with each other and our institutions to fight the common enemy.
