Pakistan Hosts Polo Championship Tournament in Lahore

Lahore- Pakistan successfully hosted the 50th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Polo and Tent Pegging Championship 2025, which concluded with a grand closing ceremony at the historic Jinnah Polo Fields (JPF), Lahore, showcasing the country’s rich equestrian heritage and sporting traditions.

 

According to an ISPR press release, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, COAS & Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.

 

The event was also attended by the Minister of Interior, Chief Secretary Punjab, senior civil and military officials, and a large number of enthusiastic spectators. Upon arrival, the Army Chief was received by the Corps Commander Lahore and the Chairman Pakistan Polo Federation.

 

The championship highlighted the Pakistan Army’s longstanding traditions of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and excellence.

 

A total of eight teams from different formations participated in the prestigious tournament, competing in both polo and tent pegging events.

 

After a series of competitive matches, Peshawar Corps emerged as the champions, while Gujranwala Corps secured the runners-up position, earning applause from the audience for their skill and professionalism.

 

During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest distributed trophies and prizes among the winning and participating players, commending their dedication and high standard of play. The successful आयोजन reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting traditional sports and fostering unity and camaraderie through competitive excellence.
