2 locals killed 5 Japanese remain unhurt in suicide bombing in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - At least two Pakistani citizens were killed while five Japanese nationals remained unhurt when a suicide bomber targeted their van i Karachi, southern port city of Pakistan.

In statement, Pakistan Foreign Ministry said that two Pakistani nationals were killed today in a terrorist attack in Karachi's Landhi area. Five Japanese nationals remained unhurt during the attack. Timely action by law enforcement agencies resulted in the death of two terrorists.

"The Government of Pakistan strongly condemns this heinous act of terrorism. All necessary measures will be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice. Such dastardly acts only strengthen the resolve of the Government and the people of Pakistan to eliminate the scourge of terrorism, said the ministry.

"Pakistan remains committed to ensuring the safety of foreign nationals residing in the country. We will continue to work with our international partners to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, it added

Last month, at least five Chinese engineers and their Pakistani driver were killed in a suicide bombing in Besham area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Recently, terrorists targeted foreign nationals attempting to block investment in Pakistan and further hit the already deteriorated condition of the South Asian country.

Pakistani authorities said terrorists established their hideouts in Afghanistan and carrying out cross border attacks in Pakistan.

Afghan Taliban denied the claims and said they not allow any terrorists to use their soil against any neighbouring country.
