ISLAMABAD  — Pakistan and United States armed forces commenced the 13th edition of their bilateral joint exercise, Inspired Gambit–2026, at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, officials said on Saturday

The two-week-long exercise brings together professional contingents from both armies to enhance cooperation in counter-terrorism operations, according to ISPR.

Officials from Pakistan and the U.S. attended the opening ceremony, which marked the start of intensive training aimed at improving interoperability, sharing operational experiences, and refining tactics, techniques, and procedures essential for effective counter-terrorism (CT) missions.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise places particular emphasis on urban warfare, including marksmanship skills, while enabling both sides to understand each other’s operational doctrines and best practices.

“Such joint exercises are vital in addressing evolving security challenges, improving professional military standards, and strengthening the capacity of both forces to operate effectively in complex CT environments,” ISPR stated.

Inspired Gambit–2026 underscores the ongoing commitment of Pakistan and the United States to collaborative efforts aimed at regional peace, security, and stability.
