Pakistan, UAE Pledge to Deepen Strategic Partnership During Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s Visit

Islamabad- At the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, paid an official visit to Pakistan on Friday marking his first visit to the country in his capacity as UAE President.

The UAE President was accorded a warm and cordial welcome upon his arrival. As the royal aircraft entered Pakistani airspace, it was escorted by a formation of JF-17 fighter jets, reflecting the significance Islamabad attaches to its relations with Abu Dhabi, according to official statement.

 

At Nur Khan Airbase, he and his high-level delegation were received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with senior cabinet members and government officials.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held substantive talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focusing on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

 

The two leaders reviewed progress in existing areas of cooperation and explored new avenues to deepen engagement across multiple sectors.

Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration in economic cooperation, investment, energy, infrastructure development, information technology, and technology, alongside enhancing people-to-people exchanges. They also agreed on the need to boost bilateral trade, noting its vast potential for mutually beneficial growth.

The leaders exchanged views on key regional and international developments and reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining close coordination on issues of mutual interest. Expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, they reiterated their resolve to work closely together to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development.

The visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is expected to further consolidate the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates and add new momentum to their strategic partnership, according to official statement.
