Pakistan, Libya Agree to Expand Bilateral Cooperation, Promote Regional Stability

ISLAMABAD- Pakistan and Libya have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation and maintain close engagement to promote peace, stability, and development at regional and international levels, following high-level talks in Islamabad on Tuesday.

 

The understanding was reached during a visit by a senior Libyan delegation that included Prime Minister Dr. Osama Saad Hamad, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces Field Marshal Khalifa Abu-al-Qasim Haftar, and Deputy Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar.

 

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening friendly ties with Libya and stressed the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

 

The Libyan leadership appreciated Pakistan’s role and expressed willingness to expand cooperation between the two countries.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present during the discussions, which reflected a shared desire to deepen relations and explore future avenues of partnership.
