ISLAMABAD - In a show of regional solidarity and diplomatic outreach, Shehbaz Sharif extended Eid ul Fitr and Nowruz greetings to Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, reaffirming close ties between Pakistan and Iran amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region.

According to an official statement, the Iranian president warmly reciprocated the greetings, conveying his best wishes to the people of Pakistan and emphasizing the longstanding brotherly relations between the two neighboring nations.

During the exchange, Prime Minister Sharif expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Iranian people in light of the ongoing hostilities, offering condolences over the loss of lives and prayers for the recovery of those injured and displaced.

Stressing the urgency of diplomacy, Sharif called on regional countries to work collectively toward de-escalation and peaceful resolution of disputes through dialogue.

Highlighting the importance of unity, the Pakistani premier underscored that cohesion within the Muslim world remains critical at a time of heightened tensions, urging greater cooperation among nations of the Ummah.

Sharif further briefed President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic outreach efforts, reiterating Islamabad’s commitment to playing a constructive role in promoting peace and stability across the region.
