Pakistan Army Eliminates 34 Indian-Sponsored Khawarij Militants in Counter-Terror Operations

ISPR confirms operations under “Azm-e-Istehkam” as Pakistan destroys joint Afghan Taliban–TTP camps following border clashes

By The South Asia Times

RAWALPINDI — The Pakistan Army has killed at least 34 militants belonging to the Indian proxy network “Fitna Al Khwarij” during a series of counterterrorism operations conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province from October 13 to 15, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, and Bannu districts after receiving reports of militant presence.

In the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, 18 Khawarij were “sent to hell” following an intense exchange of fire, ISPR said. A separate operation in South Waziristan resulted in the killing of eight more militants, while another eight were neutralized in an encounter in Bannu district.

ISPR added that sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored terrorists in the region. The military reaffirmed that Pakistan’s relentless counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative — approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan — will continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-backed militancy.

The latest counterterrorism actions come amid recent cross-border clashes between Pakistan’s security forces and the Afghan Taliban. Pakistan’s military has reportedly destroyed several joint Afghan Taliban and TTP training camps located in border areas inside Afghanistan.

Security officials said the Taliban attacks coincided with Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi’s visit to India, where he met with his Indian counterpart as well as defense and intelligence officials — raising further suspicion about Indian involvement in fueling instability along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

ISPR reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and maintain regional peace, stressing that all acts of aggression or foreign-sponsored terrorism will be met with “a decisive and forceful response.”
