Dar says Senator Mushtaq safe, to return to Pakistan on October 9

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday said that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan is safe and in high spirits after his release and stay in Jordan.

In a post on X, Dar said he spoke to Senator Mushtaq over the phone through Pakistan’s Ambassador in Amman soon after his arrival in Islamabad from Malaysia. He praised the senator’s courage and steadfastness for joining the Sumud Flotilla—a humanitarian mission aimed at breaking the Israeli siege and delivering aid to the people of Gaza.

According to Dar, Senator Mushtaq expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Foreign Office for its efforts to contact him in Tel Aviv through a friendly European country’s mission and for the facilitation and support extended by Pakistan’s Embassy in Amman.

The foreign minister added that arrangements have been made for Senator Mushtaq’s return to Pakistan on October 9, Insha’Allah.
