Bomb Blast in Bajaur Kills Four, Including Senior Officials; 11 Injured

PESHAWAR - A deadly bomb blast in Bajaur area of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province killed four people including a local high official, police said on Wednesday.

The blast occured in Sadiqabad area of Bajaur claimed the lives of four people, including Assistant Commissioner Nawagai Faisal Ismail and Tehsildar Nawagai, while injuring at least eleven others.

The explosion targeted an official vehicle and triggered widespread panic in the area, District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq said.

He added that the explosion was powerful enough to completely destroy the vehicle, killing Faisal Ismail, the Tehsildar, a Subedar, and a police official on the spot.

Police said the device detonated close to the Phatak Mela Ground. Rescue teams quickly responded, moving the injured to District Headquarters Hospital Khar for emergency treatment.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Emergency response teams were also deployed to assist victims and restore order.

The attack underscores the persistent security challenges in the tribal districts, prompting heightened surveillance and increased security across the region.

As of the time of reporting, no group had claimed responsibility for the blast.
