Pakistan, Indonesia reaffirm defence cooperation in Prabowo–Asim Munir meeting

ISLAMABAD - Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), on Tuesday called on the President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, in Islamabad to discuss defence ties and regional security, the military said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, ongoing regional developments, and opportunities to enhance bilateral defence cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the longstanding partnership between the armed forces of Pakistan and Indonesia.

President Prabowo appreciated the professionalism, discipline, and operational capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging Pakistan’s continuing contribution to regional peace and stability.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed that Pakistan places high value on its defence relations with Indonesia and remains committed to expanding collaboration in training, counter-terrorism, military education, and capacity-building initiatives.

The two leaders underscored the “brotherly” ties between Pakistan and Indonesia and agreed to maintain close coordination to advance mutual security and defence objectives.
