Pakistan, Arab and Muslim Nations Voice Alarm Over Gaza Humanitarian Crisis, Urge Unhindered Aid Access

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD - The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates have expressed deep concern over the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, warning that severe weather conditions and continued restrictions on aid access are worsening the suffering of Palestinian civilians.

In a joint statement, the ministers said heavy rainfall, storms and cold temperatures have compounded an already dire situation marked by acute shortages of life-saving supplies and delays in the entry of essential materials needed to restore basic services and provide temporary housing.

They noted that the impact has been particularly devastating for nearly 1.9 million displaced people living in fragile and inadequate shelters.

The statement highlighted flooded displacement camps, damaged tents, collapsing structures and rising health risks caused by exposure to cold, malnutrition and the threat of disease outbreaks. Children, women, the elderly and those with medical vulnerabilities were identified as being at greatest risk.

The ministers praised the efforts of United Nations agencies, especially UNRWA, and international humanitarian organizations for continuing to deliver assistance under extremely challenging conditions. They demanded that Israel ensure sustained, predictable and unrestricted access for the UN and NGOs in Gaza and the West Bank, stressing that any attempt to obstruct their work is unacceptable.

Reaffirming support for UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan, the ministers said they were committed to contributing to its implementation to sustain the ceasefire, end the war in Gaza and advance a credible path toward Palestinian self-determination and statehood.

They urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by pressuring Israel to lift restrictions on humanitarian aid, allow the unhindered flow of essential supplies, rehabilitate critical infrastructure and hospitals, and open the Rafah Crossing in both directions without delay.
