Rawalpindi - Pakistan’s security forces killed at least 13 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the last 48 hours, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants belonged to what it described as the “Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij” group and were involved in multiple terrorist attacks against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.

The first operation was carried out in Paharkhel area of Lakki Marwat district, where troops launched a joint action with law enforcement agencies after receiving intelligence about militant presence.

“After an intense fire exchange, ten Khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said, adding that security personnel engaged the hideout effectively.

In a separate operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, three more militants were killed during an exchange of fire.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from the militants, ISPR said.

The military added that sanitization efforts were ongoing to clear the region of any remaining threats, as part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

The statement emphasized that security forces remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored militancy in the country and ensuring lasting peace.
