Pakistan Rejects India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ Claims as Provocative and Baseless

By The South Asia Times

ISLAMABAD— Pakistan on Wednesday strongly rejected what it called “baseless assertions and provocative claims” made by Indian leaders during a debate in the Indian Parliament regarding the so-called “Operation Sindoor”, calling the remarks a distortion of facts aimed at domestic political gain.

In a detailed statement on Wednesday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said the Indian leadership was glorifying conflict and aggression without any verifiable evidence regarding the Pahalgam Attack, which India used as a pretext for its military actions against Pakistan in May.

“India’s targeting of the alleged terrorist infrastructure actually resulted in the martyrdom of innocent men, women, and children,” the spokesperson stated. “India failed to achieve any strategic objectives, while Pakistan’s successful retaliation and neutralisation of Indian military targets is an indisputable fact.”

The ministry criticized India for rejecting Pakistan's offer of an independent probe into the Pahalgam incident and instead acting as “judge, jury, and executioner.”

The statement also dismissed Indian claims about “Operation Mahadev”, calling the narrative “replete with fabrications” and questioning the timing of events surrounding the alleged perpetrators.

Islamabad reiterated its rejection of India’s idea of a “new normal” in bilateral ties, affirming that any future aggression would be met with resolute force. It also condemned India's stance on the Indus Waters Treaty, calling New Delhi’s decision to suspend the treaty a violation of international norms.

Pakistan said it remains committed to peace and regional stability, and urged India to respect sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principles of the UN Charter.
